I have a clevo D900K. I recently bought it as a barebone and put 2GB of RAM, a FX-60 CPU, a 250 GB Sata Drive, and a 7950GTX video card. After running into a boot issue, i had to remove 1 stick of Ram because of a compatibility issue. Anyways, i have tried to install many different versions of XP.. After realizing that i need to at least install a version of XP with SP2 or higher, i tried several versions of XP that have SP2 in them, but i have always run into the blue screen when the system boots.. The screen first appears when the system attempts to reboot after the first initial batch of files have been copied.. Xp will begin to load and then the blue screen below appears. Any suggestions on what to do?? I am in desperate need of help or else im just going to resell each individual component..

What is the HDD controller in this Clevo? Is it standard simple Intel or something else.

I suspect that XP doesn't have the HDD controller driver built in so you either need to use the Press F6 option early in the Vista install (I don't know if it is clever enough to read a USB stick instead of a floppy) or use nLite to slipstream the Clevo's drivers into the XP installation CD.

Hmm... I recommend to get MemTest86+ and autoboot with it to let it check for any errors in the memory and CPU cache.

If it finds any errors, then remove the corresponding component.

    If not, then:
    1) go to Recovery Console (or NTFS support command prompt) and do a CHKDSK C: /R
-- this will check for any errors within the HDD and it will fix them for you.

    2) then I would reseat any all the components (CPU, RAM, Wifi-card, TV-Tuner card).... or just remove the wifi card and TV Tuner for the time being and try to install Win XP again.

    3) come back here and tell me you need more suggestions :)
