I was wondering if this cpu (Celeron M) was compatible with my Gateway CX210X computer. Reason is, my laptop is busted, not exactly sure what's wrong. It basically doesn't start up. It turns on, I can get response from input (caps lock, numlock, turn on etc, optical drive seems to work, reads when a disc is put in, hard drive spins). However, there's no video on the screen (it ain't the backlights, i used a flash light to check), and I tried it on an external monitor, no video on that either. I've experienced these types of symptoms on other computer, laptops and desktops, usually its from a bad cpu or a buster mobo. I can't replace the graphics chip on this, it's soldered in. I've tried swapping the cpu with a yonah core duo T2xxx, that didn't work, but it was from a busted laptop, not sure if the cpu was busted on it or it was just the display on it. So my question would be, if I found out that the cpu is the culprit in this, would that socket m celeron m be compatible? Wasn't even sure if the yonah core duo was compatible, both were socket m, and I know the merom core 2 duos are suppose to be drop in upgrades just needing a bios update. So yeah.... thanks!
