    Hello all,

I just bought the laptop in my sig, and should have it by tomorrow. However, something has me worried. I bought two 2GB sticks (Kingston) using their memory selector on their website. All well and good. Then I read another thread in here somewhere where someone bought one 2GB stick of Kingston and put it in to make 3GB (one 1GB that came with it and one Kingston 2GB stick) and the laptop started freezing and having problems. Now, I don't even know if it is the same RAM that I ordered, but I am worried. Do you think that the Kingston RAM is bad, or do you think that it is because he mixed and matched and the two different RAMs weren't compatible together? Just want everything to work as soon as I get it (of course). Thanks. :)

It could be that he bought either the wrong memory type, or he didn't push them in all the way causing computer malfunctions.

Nonetheless, that's why I pay a little bit more for well known companies such as G.Skill or Corsair.

You think I should return the RAM and go for a different brand? Is it going to make that much of a difference?

Kingston is "name" brand RAM whatever the other poster was having trouble with is not something you should worry about. Also 3GB should work fine so don't worry about that either.
