Ok so i clean the back of my laptop vent with compressed air. Then boom liquid shoots into my fan. I boot up the laptop and everything is fine. But the back of the vent smells really bad. Will this effect my laptop. Also the liquid went on my keyboard keys but i dont really care.

You should probably clean off the liquid, and yeah liquids of any kind and electronics do not mix very well. Shut your system off, and dry up the liquid. Whether you use a q-tip, paper towel or hair dryer, you should always dry liquids before using electronics. You could potentially destroy your system.
When using a compressed air bottle always keep the top facing up, or you will get the petroleum based propellant to come out of the spray nozzle and onto your system.
You should care, and clean your system, at least let it dry, cause you do want to keep your laptop working, dont you?

Compressed air can should evaporate very quickly and leave no residue.

yeah it dried out, it wasnt like water it was really weird but i think my laptop is fine

Oh man I used to play with compressed air cans all the time at Staples last summer. You won't damage much unless it's a ridiculous amount of liquid, they do freeze/dry up quick. They're also good (albeit inefficient but still fun) for cooling down drinks.
Just don't hold the can upside down and shoot yourself with it, it's cold. -
lol k thanks for help guys, same just happened to my usb port
, lol but its ok, now my sound crackling problem

Dont shoot one with a BB gun and have it zoom around your backyard like a UFO and any object it touches gets zapped with a really painful freeze ray. Just as my brother
When using compressed air just try to keep the can as upright as possible thats how they are designed, if you tilt it thats when probably you will get liquid out of it and thats not what you want. If you have issues doing that with what kind of project your working on, I have some compressed air cans at home that have attachments that give you a hose instead of just a straw so I can move it anywhere I want. If I am doing anything besides just some small spring cleaning or a touch up job I just take it outside and use the compressor and get some real cleaning power.
Turns my vampire tomb of a pc that is full of dust into a brand new machine in like 2 minutes when I couldn't do the same in 2 hours with compressed air cans. -
Hell yeah, air compressors all the way
If my air compressor cant do it, which it usually can, I get out my handy dandy 10hp Fradan walk behind blower, which pushes 4300cfm of air volume at 220mph winds. It only takes about 10 seconds for the case to be dust free ^_^
The air volume is so powerful, it rips the dust out behind the motherboard, and through the power supply, all in one shot. nothing like power equipment

The attachment I have for my compressor and the amount of power it has is much stronger than a blower (it can rip paint off a car if I bump up the psi) just not nearly as much CFM but I like that I can control what I am doing, with a blower I would be afraid to blow stuff into the machine as much as out of it.

Just use a ECO friendly no liquid no chemicals compressed air can. thats what I use and I find it stronger then the chemically prepelled ones

I will also do a follow up...
Its more economical to just get a 1 or 2 gallon air compressor for about $50-60.
It will pay for itself over a short amount of usages.. since air cans can cost up to $4-5 per can.
Just set the PSI to around 50 and you are good to go. -

Yeah and just like my handy dremel a compressor is a jack of all trades and can become used for alot more than just cleaning your computer out.
Air tools like cutting, inflating pools/floats/tires.
Spray painting stuff
Who knows what else.
And guys who have not used one before it is just sooo much better than compressed air. Instead of having to take a brush and agitate that dust that just wont come off and then try to blow it out, the air compressor just takes it right off no problems, and you can take your time and get things just how you want them without worrying about running out of air.
Compressed air can problem?
