Ok... I have this really really annoying problem with my HP DV6226us

Whenever my laptop is on for 3+ days (with some hibernations in between) it has these slowdowns... lets say 60Hrs

    Look at the attached file...

I have iTunes, Opera, msn, avg antivirus, task manager, reliability and performance monitor etc...

And my computer plays songs with super lag and occasional screen freeze happens...

Basically... No clue whats happening... best guess is overfilling of temp. files

And as you can see... 1gb ram will never cut it, 1.66ghz wont ever satisfy my needs...

Hello Gateway P-6831FX today :D Unless I go to Best Buy and UPS didnt ship to them for the 2nd time in a row

Wow. That's some serious multi-tasking on those specs.

Upgrade to 2 GB of RAM and it should quell the problem.

After upgrading the RAM, if the problem still persist, try to reinstall Windows.

Ive reinstalled windows many times.. the most recent being last month

Heavy multitasking?! wow... thats nothing for me...
    Upgrading RAM? Yeah I will...

Will 3gb of ram in the Gateway P-6831FX and its T5450 suffice? Im upgrading to T9300 once I need it... if im ok then ill just wait until I need it...

But today im getting my Gateway P-6831FX first :) Unless BB didnt receive the UPS delivery... a second time... they said id have it yesterday... and if its no in today they will have some problems with me...

your lack of RAM is what is making it slow down so much.like everyone said. Upgrade, and your problems will fade away.

But why does this happen after about 60hrs of uptime?!

See just a moment ago my audio went crazy, when I set it at 30 it automatically slides back down to 0

^^ Windows doesn't always clean up after itself when finished with DLLs or other program data.

Also, you are running no less than 79 processes. Cut down on these by running msconfig, disabling Tablet services and other useless features, and not running programs when you don't need them. At least, don't expect it to rip through what you're doing with only 1GB of RAM (much less in Vista). The prices for RAM are very low right now, so consider upgrading.
