    I have a Compaq Presario SR1000.
    It started to suffer BSOD.
Now it will not load past Compaq start up screen and It will not let me access BIOS, Safe mode or Boot up mode etc.
I have changed the hard drive.
I have taken out the CMOS battery / reset motherboard jumper.
    No joy.
    Please advise.
    Thanks in advance.

It must be RAM issue... at least I guess so :)
take away 1 RAM stick. If that doesn't help then use only the second.

Ad yeah, try to remove the modem.
