I have a Gateway NV51B laptop running Win7. It has Conexant audio. This supposedly hi-def situation has only the barest of options under "Smart audio" in Control panel, mostly to do with VOIP usage. On my laptops with other drivers, particularly RealTech, there are some nice options for configuring the sound, especially a loudness control that gives a nice boost. With Conexant, I can barely hear the speakers.

Am I missing something? Because I can't see any other place where sound options are hidden. Thanks.
