Hello everyone I have a problem with the sound on my system. I have tried reinstalling drivers, uninstalling drivers, deleting drivers but nothing works. I can't even see my sound card in the device manager.

What can I do to just start fresh with my sound and build up from there? How can I fix my problem?

Did you try the other files that's available on HP's website? I see a H igh Definition Driver as well as the Microsoft Driver.

Does your device manager indicate any unknown devices (in yellow exclamations)?

I have tried all drivers for conexant that I could find. Some bring up an installation window, and some just say "Error Driver Installation failed: Could not find the media device for this driver" I used to be able to fix this by turning my laptop off and taking the battery out and leaving it out for a few hours, and then I can put it back in. Also this one time I was able to delete something which made it possible for windows to reinstall the driver after I restarted but I don't know what that was.

I have tried most of if not all of those drivers, however they won't install it just says Driver Installation failed: Can not find the media device for this driver." The way I used to fix this was by unplugging my laptop, taking out the battery and leaving it out for a few hours. Afterward I would put it back in and everything would work. Also I was able to delete certain files which after restart made windows install my sound automatically. Unfortunately I don't remember what I did to achieve that.
