    Confused... Capture Card and TV Tuners...

    after searching, i think i'm a little confused about the two. here's what i want to do... i want to transfer the shows i recorded from my directv hd-dvr receiver to my notebook. i know i would need a capture card to do this but notice some users refer this as a tv tuner..? :confused: anywho, will this do what i am asking for...? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100022 thanks in advance!

    It's more expensive, but if you can afford it, I highly recommend the Canopus ADVC110. The quality is awesome, has hardware encoder, and an audio lock feature that keeps video and audio in sync even in large captures. Plus, it uses a firewire connection, no drivers needed. You will most likely need the AC adapter however (which is NOT included :( ), search on amazon.
