    Hi geeks,

Just wanted to know if 16gb Optane memory would make any difference along with 16gb ram.

Imagine I'm using this kind of config with 9th gen processor with 1660ti for playing games and some video editing.

Need comparison between only 16gb ram vs 16gb ram + 16gb Optane memory

    Thanks in advance

    With regards,

    Ugendar V

Video Editing? Get 32GB+ RAM instead. ;)

hmmm....iirc Intel currently only provides this option for servers, ain't that the case? i dont think consumer platform support optane DIMMs yet. optane memory for consumers is just for storage caching...

Yeah. That is why 32GB RAM>16GB RAM + 16GB Optane for video editing. :)

I would be curious if one can use GDDR6 dimms in place of DDR4 dimms. Idk if anyone has tried that, and it should run way faster like a bat out of hell in theory.

how? like....soldering gddr6 chips onto ddr4 dimms? i doubt that that would even work electrically.... ask @Meaker ;) haha

GDDR6 has bad latency. This is a terrible idea
