Under device manager, there is an error for coprocessor under other devices. Do I need to download some software for this? Will my computer go faster then?
Thanks

I am not sure why it reads it as a coprocessor, it does the same with my Opteron 185, its just how device manager reads AMD dual cores
Their is no driver to make your system faster, it already reads the dual core processor

Screenshot? Google turn up anything?

Did you install the amd southbridge driver for your notebook? It is usually included with the chipset/display driver package. That will solve the sm bus controller unknown device.

Its an hp laptop a dv2000/dv6000/dv9000 he needs to install windows xp chipset drivers they are not included in the vista chipset drivers. These drivers will include the drivers for your co processer and your ethernet card. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...n&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3224052&os=228&lang=en

I don't think so. I did a clean install of Vista 32 and then used the HP webpage to get all my drivers. I don't think I have manually installed any drivers for my CPU.
I do have the recovery disks but did not use them. -
Of course OP wont notice my post above his because we posted at the same time.

I noticed and tried to install it. Vista said that the software did not install properly. I didn't try again because I'm buring a movie and don't want to mess things up. So, the coprocessor is actually my graphics card?
I tried it againa nd it appears to have installed correctly. However, they are still there. I'll restart my computer after the movie is done buring and see if that gets rid of them. -
No, its part of the chipset. Installing the driver wont improve your performance and neither will not installing have any impact either. Vista basically doesnt support some of the functions of the chipset(SM Bus controller) and so the drivers are not included in the package for the OS. I presume you have the nvidia nforce 430go chipset. Installing one of the older XP drivers should provide you the drivers. Also, when you try to install the XP drivers....just extract the drivers and then manually install through the device manager by right clicking on Coprocessor and selecting upgrade driver and pointing towards the extracted folder. There is no need to install the whole package.

Were do I find the chipset I am currently using?
-
What make/model do you have?
CPU-Z, Everest or PC Wizard should let you know about the chipset you have. -
I have a HP Pavilion dv6000: Dv6736nr
Is this what you are talking about?
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M

Oh i linked you to pre dv6500 drivers with nvidia 6150m chipset. Thats why it didnt work
-
ok, anyway, PC wizard said my chipset is:
Chipset : nVidia nForce 560 -
You have the nvidia 630m chipset....

Now, for the drivers, there isnt one available specifically for XP since HP did not sell this model with XP. So, just install the Vista drivers from HP for your laptop.
Coprocessor TL-60
