Has anyone ever used these while doing component upgrade work inside of their Notebook?

I have a feeling that they don't really work, they are described as ''CORDLESS Anti Static Wrist strap band no earth Ground wire required. self dissipating''

    Product here

Any views are welcome. At the moment I just ground myself the usual way but I might get hold of a wrist strap to be extra safe. Will most likely just get the standard ones.

I've built my last three desktop computers without one. Just have a bit of common sense (i.e. don't build on carpet while wearing socks with the humidifier off) and you'll be fine.
