    Hi,

I'm planning to buy a sony cw and i'm planning on playing recent games and doing a little video editing.

    I can't decide wether i take the P8800 or the T9600.

So, for 180$ CAD more is the T9600 worth it vs the P8800? Will i see that much of a difference?

    Thanks

It`s strange the both get about the same score on passmark , must be wrong?

2.66 to 2.8 is only a 5% difference also the 6mb cach will give it a little extra boost.

I would get the P8800 , better battery life also on the TDP 25 watt compared to 35

Yeah. The P series has a 25W TDP rather than 35. The 9xxx series has 6MB cache. That's the only differences

Get whichever is cheaper. Performance is almost the same and so is battery life.

That upgrade isn't worth it at all. In real world usage, you won't notice a bump of 0.13ghz at all. The extra cache might give you a little speed boost, but it's really negligible in real world usage. The P series also has a lower TDP, so that means longer battery life and less heat.
I would pay maybe at most $50 for the T9600. $180 is absolutely out of the question. Get a 7200RPM HDD or something.

Or you can get a P8800 now and then later on buy a T9600 and sell the P8800. Would most probably cost less than $180...

Dont even bother looking at the 25w versus 35watt tdp's. Both will run near identical in terms of battery life, temperature and performance.
Intel bins there processors, so ones which just miss the 25Watt TDP are bumped into the 35watt TDP basket

    Get the cheaper processor
