My current laptop is a couple years old and has the Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2GHz. If all else is equal, would I notice any performance difference with an Intel B950 for everyday use. I know the B950 is an entry processor, but the Core 2 Duo is old. Thinking about getting the $380 17" laptop deal as long as performance will be about the same.

You probably won't notice any difference in everyday usage, but the B950 is indeed faster than the T6600.

Thanks for the quick reply! I was just worried the B950 would be slower. I'm obviously not a gamer or know much about computers. Just do basic computing and surfing, so it should do fine.

I think you can probably overclock it pretty easily?
I overclocked my t6600 to 2.9ghz but thats dependent on the notebook PLL. I think with AMD cpus it very easy.
