keep waiting for core 10 duo....honestly....the rule is always...buy when u need to...wait if u can....i was tempted to wait for the A8Js...but decided not to when I got a good price on the A8Jm and the deal outweighed the advantages...7700vs7600....T7200 vs T2400....my price = way less than A8Js pre-ordering prices....and finally.....school was starting and I didn't want to be without a computer....and couldn't wait another couple of months.

Santa Rosa should provide a 15-20% performance increase special thanks to the new and improved 800 MT/s FSB. However, ask yourself this: would waiting mean you'd have use a subpar PC until the new technology arrives? Do you necessarily need a new comp now for your work? If the answer for either one of those questions is yes, then I suggest you get a Core 2 Duo laptop NOW. Santa Rosa or not, remember. Although a new socket-type (Socket P) would be introduced, the Core 2 Duo by itself would remain unchanged. Meaning, Core 2 Duo on Santa Rosa and Core 2 Duo on the current platform woudl result in negligible differences when longetivity (64-bit) is concerned. Need now, buy now. If not, buy later. Hope that helps.
