Why does the core 2 quad have 2 little node's on the top of it unlike the rest of the chips. Is this what they mean when they say intel put two core 2 duo's on one die? http://www.flexiblesolarzellen.com/auction/current/eBay/Q9100/PA290243.jpg Also if you wanted to buy it the ebay auction is http://cgi.ebay.com/Intel-Core-2-Qu...39:1|66:2|65:12|240:1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 ( note this is not my cpu )

Yeah, that's two dual core dies on one chip.
-
Crazy it looks mutated lol
-
Wow I've never seen it like that. Normally, the 4 dies are completely side by side. I have not seen them separated like that.
-
Could be a fake, ask for some better pictures.
-
It is legit. The Penryn QCs are basically two Penryn DCs on one chip.

This is the main reason why they need a bigger, beefier heatsink to properly cover the 2 dies. -
The new i7 has all 4 on 1 die!
-
erase, please
-
This processor model sure has a very strange architectural design, it looks as if it came from outer space..

LOL and @BMW, probably why the cheap i7 920 performs better then some of the high end Q series. Having them connected proper like the 2 cores in a dual core are rather then the way the Q is built would have a performance increase in communication.
and yeah i totally explained that wrong lol. -
Moving the memory controller on-die probably helps.
Core 2 quad q9100 looks odd?
