Hey, I have a question regarding the Core Duo. Is it socket 478? If so does that mean if I have a socket 478 motherboard I can put a Core Duo in it. Thanks

Not in a regular Skt 478. It needs to be compatible with Core Duo. The Core Duo even though has the same number of pins, the pin configurations are different from that of both Pentium 4 & Pentium M Skt 478 processors.

no the bios and mobo must support the cpu. If yours has a Pent M or a celeron then no a core duo wont work.
