When do you think the T2700 2.33GHz will be announced and able to be used in laptops?
Im going to buy a Sager 5760, but just going with the T2500 2.00GHz since the upgade to the T2600 2.16GHz isnt worth the money to upgrade too, but maybe the T2700 would be... From Friday July 7th I will be able to buy the sager 5760 from that point on. Im willing to wait a little while if the T2700 comes soon and if its worth the upgrade from the T2500. Let me know what your thoughts are.
    TIA

I doubt it will be worth the premium they are going to charge for it.

Not really worth it. Especially since Merom is just around the corner and would probably give better performance than the Core Duo. If you are willing to upgrade then get a lower range CD and upgrade to a Merom later on.

Intel's top-shelf processors are not worth the premium. The T2500 is the best value.

the extra performance isn't really worth it. If you are going to wait...wait for Merom like miner said. with the T2500 I have definitely not be disappointed and I would be astounded if you were when you got yours.

Given the two options above, I'd definitely go with getting the T2500 now... If you are willing to wait until the T2700 is available, I'd still get the T2500 and save some more money. :)

You always get best bang for your buck going two or three steps back from the top of the line CPU.

Like most people have said....the price premium on the 2600 and 2700 is hard to justify. That being said, if you need every ounce of computing power you can get and you have the money...then the T2700 is the fastest dual core chip available for laptops. So if you need that little bit extra....its your money.

Well its not so much that i dont have the money, I do. Its about cost/reward here. Im not willin to shell out 235.00 bucks to go from the stock 1.66GHz core duo to the 2.16GHz version. I will pay 100 bucks for the 2.00GHz version. Now saying that, if the 2.33GHz version comes out, then 235.00 bucks would be worth the money if thats the cost of upgrade from the 1.66GHz to that 2.33GHz CPU. I havnt heard of any release date on the T2700, and if its out there, I dont see and retailer adding it as an option. Heck even newegg only has the T2600 as thier top core duo.

After everyones help here, Iv decided not to wait, and take the plunge and get the T2500 as the CPU for my 5760 that i will be ordering tomorrow.
    Thanks for your help. :)

Dell has been putting the T2700 in their notebooks for over a week now, I believe.

Yeah its avalable in the XPS M2010/1710. I dont know if anyothers have it, but I would not be suprised if it was avalable in a Precision.
