I have Toshiba Satellite P750 with Core i5 2410m ...max clock speed i 2.30 Ghz (2.295) ..but the speed and multiplier keep changing(one of them is changing ..and automaticly affects the other)...Current clock speed is 798 Mhz and multiplier is 8x...it keeps changing..sometimes 8x ..sometimes 10x ..sometimes 12x ..etc ...should be 23x ...is this normal or my cpu has problems? (core temperatures are always above 60).

You don't always need 2.3 GHz, so your CPU is stepping down to reduce power draw and heat.

Try running something like wPrime on all cores, the multiplier should stay stable at the rated value. The multipliers are always all over the place unless you put the CPU under heavy load.

sh*t I'm stupid..thanks guys ..didn't know about speedstep...On my old desktop PC ..i had Celeron 330 2,66 Ghz ...and the speed kept changing from 2,66 to 1,8..I opened up my homebox , took of cpu ..and one wire(connector...that thing that processor is put on ) was curved ..so it wasn't touching cpu...i managed to straight it up...and everything was ok ...so i thought it might be some hardware problem this time too..thanks :D
