    Hey guys,

I was wondering if there are any Socket P pinmods available? I am getting the 667 FSB chip and was wondering if there was anyway to pinmod it to 800MHz FSB?

    Free boost?

I have done searches, but seldom found anything. Anybody aware of any?

    Thanks, ps2cho

I've never heard of any pinmods for the Socket M Core (2) series processors let alone the new Socket P.

The T5250 looks like a fast processor, I think it will be fine for just about anything.

Well in the future I want to upgrade to a T7300. How would the 1.5GHz Core 2 Duo compare to my 2.8GHz Celeron Northwood?

Well since its a dual core, the T5250 is technically a 3.0ghz and it has a faster FSB and a higher L2 cache. The E1520 should feel faster overall since it should have a better/faster hdd, and its capable of more and faster ram(667mhz) and more gaming capablities.

My 1.5ghz celeron M was faster in some things over my 2.8 p4 northwood. The C2D will be blazing in comparison to the celeron northwood.

a 2.8 celeron isnt going to compete well in several applications against a C2D. no matter how much they increase the celerons speed, it's ultimately the cache that makes it the budget desktop model that it is.

My current laptop with the 2.8GHz Celeron does an outrageous 2,500 points on...3dmark2001.
    EDIT: Sorry not even that!

Saying its 3.0ghz is a misnomer. Adding the clock speeds is not equal to the processor power. Dual cores have the advantage of being able to multitask very well.

Seconding that, you can't double the CPU speed. It does not work like that. It is going to perform like a 1.5 GHz Core 2 Duo in most applications because most are single-threaded.
