I'm considering a Corsair Force Series GT 60GB SATA 3 (CSSD-F60GBGT-BK)[1] for use in a ASUS G73Jh (wich uses an Intel 5/3400 Series SATA 2 AHCI controller).
Have anyone tried this or similar setup (using a Corsair SATA 3 SSD on an Intel SATA 2 controller)?
Are there any problems on this particular setup?
What's the performance (IOPs and read/write MB/s)?
Compared to an OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G[2] which is fastest(IOPs)?
Any other suggestions for a fast (IOPs) SSD?
Thanks in advance!

Samsung 830 64GB is faster than Force 3 + its more reliable.
Sandforce drives cheat with specs, they only reach their specs with 0 fill data.
Crucial M4 64GB is fast too. -

I could pull the numbers for the M4 64GB when i'm at home, FW009 and stock windows drivers vs IRST if you cannot find them.

You may be able to find some AS-SSD benchmarks. This will show how slow the Force 3 60GB really is.
Here's a review that compares the 128GB versions

Here are the CMD numbers on the stock windows drivers, i don't have any other benchmark software installed on the desktop, but i could always get them if needed and do another bench with IRST as well. The benchmark was done on SATA 6Gbps by the way. I have a 128GB on SATA 3Gbps in my G73, so i could do that as well, but the larger capacity will mean better scores in areas where the SATA interface isn't the bottleneck.

accoring to corsairs website, both force 3 and force gt are backward compatible with sata 2 and even sata 1 (?)
do not get 60gb, its slower in many aspects and iops are lower too, go for 90gbs.
ill get one on monday for my e1705, its sata 1, im wondering if that would work ?! -
I think I'm gonna get the 120GB cause they are offering a rebate of US$ 30, so lowering the price to US$ 159.99[1].
It may not be the fastest, but considering the price and the benchmarks I've found out[2,3] I think it's the best option for me.
Thanks a lot guys!

im getting the force gt 120gb now too! great time to buy, nice rebate! thanks

so hows yours ?
mine came, im happy, quiet n fast BUT sata 1 + this sweet thingy is not a good idea, i got R/W speeds only 60% higher, theres a lot of potential that sata1 is not using, so im going to make an expresscard esata bootable ssd. -
Comparison of INTEL SSDSA2M080G2GC and Corsair CSSD-F120GBGT-BK.csv
Note that for "Random Read 4K (QD=32)" there's a decrease of 33%, although writes speeds increases 35%(QD=1) to 169%(QD=32).
Var% is the average measures of Corsair/Intel.
ATTO[2] results are the following:
All tests were made in a ASUS G73Jh running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit and both disks were using SATA 2 (300MB/s) mode in the same port -- one at a time.
Write performance gain favored Corsair, but on Windows Experience Index the "Primary hard disk: Disk data transfer rate" score decreased from 7.8 to 7.7.
