Just when all of us thought HyperX 1866 PnP CAS 11 was the way to go... Corsair just oneupped them with....

    Corsair Vengeance Laptop RAM.

Link that goes to the goodies: Corsair 8GB DDR3-1866 kit.

If I can get 16GB of the DDR3-1866 CAS 10 stuff in my NP8130.... drool drool

Doubt we can notice any difference in our practical day to day use with these fancy sticks, well perhaps you can score better in RAM benchmarks if that counts anything.

perhaps, but at least it's good competition.... that breeds innovation, no?

    No.
True innovation doesn't really require 'competition'.
Competition in the capitalist sense gives options to the consumer at variable price tags... though it will NOT always translate to lower prices as some people seem to think.

    Besides, you call this innovation?
Lol... innovation would be a major revision or a full blown upgrade/replacement/evolution of a product that offers very tangible gains and not 'same old same old'.

In case of ram sticks, stick with the lowest Mhz speed in DD3 (whichever is the cheapest), get 16GB and you won't notice any difference in system performance.
Lower RAM timings might affect performance in certain programs, but beyond benchmarks, you will be hard pressed to see the difference at all.
