There is a small price difference though.
And BTW is there any real difference between DDR2 PC5300 and 5400?? they seems to be the same??
Thanks!

Mac memory is a marketing convention. Does this memory go through extra testing on a Mac platform to earn the right to call itself “Mac memory” and is the criteria set up buy Apple or the RAM manufactures, I do not know. Does it matter? No, the organization that sets the standards for what DDR2 200 pin SO-Dimm is and can be labeled as such is JEDEC. All PC2 5300/5400 200 pin SO-DIMMs are the same for operation and will function the same (within the standards). Macs do not require different RAM than PC's per se.
5300/5400 are the same. -
Ok cool
thanks! So why there are two types 5300 and 5400?? I thought this had someting to do with speed, and actually seen on a computer store website in data transfer 5300Mb/s and 5400Mb/s.

so, in short - 5300 and 5400 are just two labels for the same product. -
For 5300 speed is 667MHz
For 5400 speed is 800MHz
just in few websites (like Frys) seems like they write 5400 on 5300 memory.
Probably error in typing... -
800Mhz RAM is 6.4GB not 5.4
MFG using 5300/5400 is choice it has no difference in performance so do not buy based on that difference.
533Mhz RAM is 4200/4300
667Mhz RAM is 5300/5400
800Mhz RAM is 6400

Thanks for all the answers! I know what to buy now
