I am confused with this HDMI stuff. Does anybody know a way how to connect a HP 8710w with a samsung LE37S86BD.

Somebody told on the forums the other day that nvidia and intel cant transfer sound thru HDMI. Why is this the case ? and can i connect the notebook in some other way to the LCD so i can get both sound and picture from the TV instead of having to buy a PCMCIA sound card then connecting it to speakers and listening the sound from them and getting the picture from the HDMI on the LCD.

    Thanks!

HDMI = DVI + sound + fancy new plug.

Some companies have laptops that leave the sound part out, so you get:

HDMI = DVI + fancy new plug.

...Pretty hard to beat that explanation! ... I'm gonna rep you because I honestly adored it. I don't even know why I liked it so much. I just did.
