No problem 16GB Memory neither for the newer Trinity G6 nor for the older Llano G6.

So long as you get a 2x8GB RAM package, you should be fine.

What would be a cheap way to buy the set of RAMs? And how much do they cost?

Just click (double click?) on "CrucialScan.exe", and it should do what it needs to do. May I ask which exact model of HP g6 you have?

Did you buy it new? If so, it probably has the model number on the box. Or maybe on a sticker on the bottom...

this baby sitting thing is BS....

HP Pavilion g6-2238dx Notebook PC Product Specifications | HP® Support

this is the product specification, and in "memory slots", it says 2 user accessible

now if your wondering how to google this information for your own laptop, I'll walk you through the steps

    1) type in on your internet explorer address bar: google.com
    2) press enter to get into google
    3) click on the search box and type in: G6-2238DX
    4) press enter and let google search for your laptop's information
    5) on the results page, this link: "HP Pavilion g6-2238dx Notebook PC Product Specifications | HP ..." should be visible within the 1st page
    6) click on that link, and find where it specifies the number of memory slots, it should be named "Memory Slots" and with the description "2 user accessible"

if your still wondering whether you can put in 4x4Gb ram, you should look up on the dictionary what the number 2 means

Gosh the level of babysitting here is.... why is it so hard to google before asking around

and also, when you purchase the ram, make sure you unscrew all the screws on the back of your laptop and try openning it up before asking people how you can upgrade the RAM, also unplug the battery and power adapter

google those terms if you are not sure what battery and power adapter is
