First problem is with power adapter. I have to unplug it when I boot or it says "power adapter can't be determined. 130 watt adapter required to boot". This is the second adapter and the first one did this ocassionally and the 2nd one has started to do it all the time.
The battery isn't charging now. Sometimes if I get lucky and plug charger in at a specific point during post screen it will charge.
2nd problem only happened twice in a row. As soon as computer booted the Display went dark. You could barely make out what was on the screen.
I have the 3yr accidental damage extended warranty, but was hoping someone here might be able to help without going through Dells tech support.

These are two separate problems here I think... the thing with the display is probably just a dying backlight and/or inverter; those are cheap parts but can be troublesome to replace.

The issue with the charger could be a number of things; it could be an issue with the power brick, but it could also be a problem with the on-board power circuitry.

In either case you should probably call Dell; these probably aren't easy fixes unless you want to buy a ton of parts on your own, just to find out that the problem lies elsewhere...
