    1. I just installed a new CPU In my Gateway P-6831FX . Device manager still shows my old CPU ,, How do I get DM to see the new CPU ?

    2. What is the best way to monitor the temp of the CPU ?

    Thanks

Edit: I did install Core Temp ,, Seems like a nice program so far.

    1) Try cpu z for confirmation of your new cpu

    2) Search, been talked about many times. There's even a sticky.

Run the CPU diagnostic...and update your BIOS to the latest version.

I have Gateway ML6720 with T2310 cpu and upgraded to T5450. I have the same issue. everything shows T5450 (boot up, System property, CPU-z) but Device manager still shows T2310.

my BIOS is Phoenix for GL960 chipset. where can I download new BIOS? obviously Gateway does not offer this BIOS upgrade.
