    Cpu and Graphics chip !?!

    Hi I was just wondering why i have a sticky squishy pad thin one seperating my ATI atigraphics chip and weather i should replace it with heat paste. my ATI graphics chip is the same as my CPU mirror finish top except, has a thin pad not paste?

    Manufacturers use thermal pads as a cheap way to keep GPU/VRAM cool. Nearly all manufacturers use this method to keep costs down. You can consider repaste if the heatsink makes contact (some designs do not, and you are forced to use the thermal pads).

    what is that sticky thermal memory heat pad's that they use, i would like to buy some of it. The sticky stuff that covers the memory, and voltage chips

    Thanx mate the graphics card chip is touching the copper piping anyways lol so ill just put thermal paste on it thanx again

    i know what it generally is, i meant what the substance they use itself is. It's not an ordinary thermal pad at all, and it's not sticky but more like clay like and can be molded into anything.

    i've never seen anything like it in any store, i want to buy some. when you say thermal pad or thermal tape, it's neither because i've never seen a substance in retail market for this category, nether the less it's purpose is to transfer heat like thermal pad and thermal tape,
