I have an Acer Asipre 3000. How hard is it to change the thermal paste? I have done it before on a desktop PC but not on a notebook...
Give me tips on how to do it or link to guide please

You will void your warranty if you do that, just wanted to make you aware of what you're doing.
I believe there are some guides to applying thermal paste in the Asus forum, so check there.
Might I ask why you want to apply thermal paste? -
As you might know by now I'm trying to stop a loud fan.
I did some testing last night and it turns out I only need to reduce the CPU temp from 38 to 36 in order to make it stop. I figured a good quality thermal paste such as Arctic silver 5 could do the trick...

That probably will get you there or close to it. It's not "hard" to do the paste, you just have to be sure to be clean about it and not apply too much. As noted, it will void the warranty.

The guy that designed this must have been unable to hear. A laptop is not suppose to make that much noise! Man I feel terrible about this. It was my dad who got it but if I had made a little research I could have recommended a better one.
I feel sorry for any poor student who bought this, thinking he could bring it to his collage. Everyone in there would soon be wanting to kick him out!
I do not recommend this laptop to anyone unless you can't hear.
Crack open and change thermal paste?
