My laptop fell off my bed and now 2/3rds of the screen is either black or striped colors(I am browsing on the left 1/3rd). I can see the cracks, but cannot feel them, so it seems to only be the LCD crystals.

Is it possible to replace just this LCD part? Is the repair relatively easy so I could purchase and replace the part myself?

I read about a site that specializes in LCD repair, and there costs were 'okay', but I'd rather get it fixed for cheaper. I'd appreciate any advice on the best place to get the parts cheap, and advice about the repair process.

    Thanks for your help.

buy a screen from ebay then do it yourself its insanely easy will probably take less than 10 mins. post screen shots and ill walk you through it real quick. once you remove the lcd just look at the number on the back of the lcd and type it into ebay youll find one cheap(60-80) once it gets there its easy to re- install. if you were in NC i could come show you =)
