Hello,
I wanted to start by saying my knowledge is limited. Yesterday was the first time i've heard the terms LVDS or eDP.
I have an Acer Aspire 3 A315-51-35FR Laptop
Model No. N17Q1
MFG Date: 2018/05/07
SNID: 81805656976
https://www.newegg.ca/black-acer-asp...82E16834316459
I THINK I've found some replacements for the 15.6'' 1366 x 768 display?![]()
https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/Acer/ASPIRE~3~A315-51-35FR/ Are these replacements LVDS or eDP?
I THINK my laptops interface is LVDS?![]()
The numbers match with this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/i/32951473776.html
I also know an identical sku of the Acer Aspire A315-51-35FR exists with the only difference I can see being the 1080 screen (ie. same CPU/iGPU, RAM, screen size and mounting location). Am I able to upgrade to a FHD 1080 screen?
I have also read of people replacing their screens with this IPS: https://www.screencountry.com/index.php?section=products&part_number=NV156FHM-N43 Is this an option for me?
ANY help/advice would help so much.
Thanks in advance.

***Update***
I've found a bit more info on what i believe is my screen. http://www.panelook.com/N156BGA-EB2__15.6_LCM_overview_28556.html
It says it's an eDP (1 Lane) 30 Pins Connector. I've counted the pins on the connector located on the rear of the LCD screen and i'm sure it's 30 pins.
I've also been told if I wish to use the higher resolution screen in the laptop I will first need to change the video cable in the laptop to a Full HD channel cable (NO cable model info) capable of handling the higher resolution, the current video cable in the laptop will not support the higher resolution. Is this true? How do I find this information out? I don't even know where to start looking.Starlight5 likes this. -
Starlight5 Yes, I'm a cat. What else is there to say, really?
Sadly I am not a display upgrade guru to hrlp you more. Good luck! -
You should be able to go all the way to IPS 1080p@120Hz: https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/screen-part-number/N156HCE-GA2/ -
The N156HCE is good, and there is also the NV156FHM-N4B. Cant go wrong with either unless you want 144hz.
