Have laptop with specs in rig. I wanted to set up a Raid 1 but I wanted to clarify whether I need to reinstall Windows or it can be done in any other way. I have Intel Rapid Storage application though it has not been of much help.

Yes, it is possible. It involves adding lines to the registry to make the OS see that it used to be part of a RAID 1 array that lost one of the drives.

Sorry, I don't know the specifics. If you can't or don't want to wait for an answer here, you could try asking on computer forum besides this one. RAID is pretty darn rare on laptops, but very common on desktops, and in my experience desktop forums tend to have a much greater technical knowledge base than notebookreview anyway. Here is a list of computer forums that I can think of that you can try and should be able to supply you with a good answer:

forum.desktopreview.com (I can't in good conscience recommend this, but I'd probably get banned if I don't)
    overclockers.com/forums
    forums.overclockers.com.au (unrelated to the above)
    maximumpc.com/forums
    forums.anandtech.com
    forums.extremeoverclocking.com
    tomshardware.com/forum
    hardforum.com
