I am trying to backup my computer to an external HD. When i do so, a message pops up saying that i cannot backup a file greater than a certain amt. into this drive. Why is this so and how can i change it?

What backup software are you using, and is it registered?

Is your external HD formatted to FAT32? If so, then you cannot place a file larger than 4GB into it. I recommend you change the file format of your external to NTFS or HFS+ (if you're using a Mac).
