Out of these two SSDs which one is better? I know that one is a SATA 2 SSd and one SATA 3, but which one is more reliable(samsung I am guessing). What are the performance improvements of the C300 over the samsung and are they worth the reliability sacrifice.
Also this may sound stupid but what exactly do you mean by reliability of an SSD, o have heard that the samsung is more reliable than the crucial but what exactly does this mean?? Are SSDs from unreliable companies known to fail? And what exactly happens when an unreliable SSD fails? Also I understand SSDs have a limited life, so does the 'reliability' of an SSD have something to do with this?
Also I am aware of the Micron C400 but I could not find it on Amazon.

Do you have a SATA III connection?
As far as I know the reliability rates of these drives are ~1%. That means that 1 in 100 fails. -
Yeah I do have a SATA 3 connection(I think how can i check, my laptop is the HP dv6t qe with SB, it was launched this year so i figure it has a SATA 3 connection).
What exactly do you mean by reliable, that is what i want to understand.
And what are your thoughts on Sandforce based drives, they are fast but what are their drawbacks. -
Reliable means it will do it job without issues.
Sandforce has known quite a few of issues. Relatively speaking it's one of the less reliable drives.
Intel, Samsung and Crucial are the more reliable drives.
Crucial C300 had a firmware problem but as far as I know it has been fixed. -
With Sata III connection, you should get a Sata III drive. Intel,Crucial C400,ect.

In terms of speed which is faster. The Crucial is cheaper than the Samsung, that is why I am leaning towards it.
Also found the Crucial/Micron C400 on superbiiz.com. It is also pretty cheap. Is superbiiz a reliable site? I am assuming it is faster than the C300 and the Samsung 470, Am i right?
Until now have there been any known issues with the C400, it just sounds too good to be true- Fast SATA III drive which is also reliable and cheap at the same time. -
C400 is a bit faster than C300 yes.
-
I know it is too early to talk about its reliability but have there been any known issues with the c400 till now.
Also how is superbiiz.com? Is it reliable enough? Has anyone purchased the C400 from them yet? -
Superbiiz looks alright:

Thanks. I'll go with it then, seems like a great buy. Is there anything else that i should know about before i get a SSD
-
No. Go get it now
