Just ordered a Lenovo X220 and I'm planning on getting a SSD for it.

I already have an Intel X25-M G2 120GB on my desktop right now, and I'm considering two options:
    1. Get an Intel 320 120GB for X220, keep the X25-M G2 for desktop.
    2. Get a C400/M4 128GB for desktop, and put the X25-M G2 in the X220.

However, I never used a Micron/Crucial SSD before, and have seen some people reporting different issues with Crucial M4.(Seems like the new firmware from Crucial is fixing some of the issues)

Are the M4s really that bad right now?
    How's Micron/Crucial's reliability compared to Intel's?

And are there any REAL differences between the Crucial M4 and Micron C400?

What is the price difference for you between the M4 and the Intel 320?
I believe the M4 will give you better performance (especially for a computer that can use SATA 6Gb/s), but no point paying too much more for it.

I've got 2 Crucial SSDs running without issues and I generally haven't heard anything bad about them regarding reliability.

The way I see it is you could purchase the M4 for your laptop and make sure the firmware is updated to 0002 and if it doesn't work out, then move it to your desktop PC and disable LPM (a certain power saving feature that seemed to cause the SSD to pause/freeze in firmware 0001).

The Intel 320 120GB is about $205-210, and Micron C400 is about $215-225(Crucial M4 is the same price, but on the spec sheet it says the Micron C400 have higher IOPS compared to M4, around 5-7K higher for 4K R/W)

Could you please link me the spec sheet(s)? I have heard that they are the same SSD.

Note that some models may be limited to SATA 3.0Gb/s and that different models(e.g. 128GB vs 256GB) will have different speeds.

    Made a mistake actually
The website that I was looking at (eWiz/SuperBizz) put 40K/50K IOPS on the 128GB C400 page, but I checked the Micron official tech specs and the 128GB one is the same as M4, 40K/35K :)
