    Crucial M500 or Samsung EVO 840 (500GB)?

    I've read several topics on here about these drives, but I still can't make up my mind on which one to get :confused: Any recommendations?

    Based on these 4K speeds, I'd get the EVO, and by the way the Crucial is 480 GB so the Samsung will give you a bit more space:

    Add to that, the fact that Samsung has the best SSD utility (Magician) makes it another plus point and they are known for reliability.

    The Crucial is a great SSD but it's in another class (the entry level/budget SSDs) you cannot compare it to the bigger sharks like the VO or 840/850 PRO and others

    it's great value for money for $$ per GB but that's for people on a tight budget. If you are one, then by all means get it it's not bad at all, but to answer your question, in one word, EVO

    PS: If I were you I'd get the 850 PRO which blows every other SSD out of the water and is priced quite decently for the capacities less than 1 TB

    The EVO also has very low idle power consumption which is a desirable attribute if you are wanting to use your notebook on battery.

    My EVO mSATA is now about 6 months old and has caused me no worries.
