I'm looking at configurations for an MSI GT72, and I have the option of either the Crucial 256GB M600 M.2 SSD SATA III 6Gb/s or the 250GB Samsung 850EVO SATA III 6Gb/s M.2 for the exact same price.
Is there any reason to choose one over the other?

Of the two the Samsung generally has better real world performance. On the other hand Samsung's had a lot of issues with bugs over the past year.
So the general perception is that Samsung is more performant and Micron is more reliable. -
Thanks. I was learning towards the Sumsung, since I've used quite a few of their products throughout my life and have always been happy with them. I guess my next step is to dig through their warranty info before I make a final choice.

I'm looking at a build through GenTech PC and it's $115 for either one installed. I thought about buying one separate and installing it myself, but Amazon has the Samsung for $118 and the Crucial at $123.

I haven't had a bad experience with a Crucial/Micron drive since the days of C300. Obviously, YMMV. -
I highly recommend the Micron M600. The 256GB version can be had on ebay for $80-85. I have the 128GB version in my X220 and the 256GB version in my M18x. Both are solid performers and very cheap. For the price/performance/reliability, Crucial/Micron simply cannot be beaten.
Crucial or Samsung?
