Indeed the Core Duo line from Intel seems to be one of the top notebook proccessors to date. I was looking though, at the Sager NP9750 which has amd x2 or FX proccesor and was wondering how it performs (core solo) compared to the core duo?

Any input, comments? I'm pretty certain that the laptop i will get soon must have a core duo but I haven't heard much about how the fast AMD proccessors compare in Notebooks.

EDIT: Note I am interested in their terms of performance for high intensity graphics, games, or rendering proccesses. Core Duo vs. Athlon 64 X2/FX?

    Thanks,
    Chris

here are some benchmarks comparing the core duo and the athlon64 x2:

they perform fairly comparably. however, the fx-60 is amd's top of the line cpu, so it should be more powerful than the core duo. you should realize though that these are desktop processors meaning that you may run into heating problems as well as add additional weight to your machine for cooling. the core duo runs cooler, uses less power (extends battery life), and usually makes the machine weigh less.

i had the wrong link in...sorry!
