As of today (March 2017) it seems that the largest M.2 capacities are as following:
42mm - 512GB
60mm - 512GB
80mm -1TB
As far as I can tell that's correct. It seems odd to me however that 60mm M.2 drives would have the same capacity as 42mm drives. If anyone has or knows of larger drives at each size feel free to share. I almost missed the 512GB capacity at 42mm when I purchased my M.2 after all.

960 Pro can be had in 2TB, friend.

@LanceAvion how could you forget about 22110 drives?! They top out at 2TB, like 2280.

Any reasons why ssd capacities are not going up. I was hoping we will see 4-8TB SSD by now.

@saturnotaku FWIW there were 4TB Samsung PM863 on sale for $1000 in the end of last year... were gone pretty quick. Even now, 4TB EVOs can be bought $1100-something.
@sreesub the only reason capacities ain't going up (and prices ain't going down) is corporate greed. -

Max m.2 NVMe = 2TB (960 PRO)
max m.2 non NVMe = 1TB (850 EVO) -

@Phoenix I was commenting on its price, and of course it's 2.5", not m.2. There is 2TB m.2 2280 SATA Micron 5100, however - which is almost twice cheaper than 2TB 960 Pro.

I am not liking how slow the capacities are growing.Star1child and Starlight5 like this. -

@Phoenix, well, not exactly 2x times cheaper than 960 pro, but there you go.
