    Custom All In One PC PSU replacement + case/fan mod (replaced with FSP500-50FSPT)

    So, a couple of months ago I bought this barebones all in one setup which comes with a water cooling system included:

    I assembling all of my computer parts into the barebones system including:

    Asus ROG STRIX X370-I GAMING motherboard
    AMD Ryzen 7 2700X @ 4.2GHz
    2x8GB DDR4 Corsair 3200MHz RAM CL16 (obviously overclocked to 3400MHz :D)
    Asus Turbo RTX 2080 Liquid Metalled + lost warranty the first day I bought it lol


    I noticed the crappy power supply that would be powering my system but didn't take much notice, assembled everything together put the back cover on and started playing Battefield V, 10 minutes later the game is lagging and the computer is CONSTANTLY crashing. It was obvious at this point the psu had to gtfo...
    Literally an hour after building my setup I ordered the FSP 500 power supply with a 8 pin server socket to dual 8 pin pci-e converter.

    Here is the psu replacement + case mod:

    Finally I could NOW use my all in one to it's full potential without lagging or crashing due to power issues. I stress tested the psu by running furmark and prime95 consequently the power supply handled it with ease just tipping 420W out of the usable 480W!

    There was just one problem though. The power supply sounded like a jet engine on light or heavy loads...

    So I opened up the power supply casing, voiding the warranty as usual :D, to find a 4 pin pwm fan! This did infuriate me slightly and I did try soldering a 2 pin fan to the red and black wires. The power supply would simply shut off after 10 seconds due to a safety precaution, (detection wire was not soldered) no fan was found.

    I ended up coming across a nice small noctua fan which seemed to have excellent reviews and was pwm, here it is:

    I now had to match the wires from the psu with the wires from the fan, this required some trial and error but finally I found the combination and installed the fan into the psu bracket:

    Now the psu was silent and didn't turn off, the fan was detected! The psu fan speed increased as the wattage climbed showing that everything was working fine. I stress tested the psu for a good 2 days, temps max out at 65 to 70c a bit toasty but nothing a SERVER psu can't handle.

    That's it! I can now be proud to say that I built a silent all in one pc which would destroy a mac or any other all in one out there (as long as it doesn't have a 12 core xeon processor lol).

    My next mod is hopefully adding a gpu water cooler inside the case. :D
