So my GF just formated her laptop and since am not with her at the moment and can look around in win XP i have to ask u guys if anyone know how to enable the D: after u formated it.

You have to give more details.
How was the notebook formatted? With a recovery DVD?
Did you have 2 partitions before the format?
What notebook is it? -
If she formatted the whole drive and made one partition, there would be no D drive.

On her machine, have her go to Windows Control Panel --> Adminstrative Tools --> Computer Management.
On the left-hand side, go to Storage --> Disk Management. Maximize the window, and take a screenshot.
If she doesn't know how to take a screenshot, then tell her to get out her digital camera or phone, and take a picture of her monitor. Then go to ImageShack® - Online Media Hosting, upload that picture there, and send you the URL.
Once we see that screenshot, we can tell you exactly what is going on.
