my upgrade ram doesn't fit into the white plastic holders in my PC. The notch on the new ram is shifted to the left by about 1/16". If I force it in I will break something. MemorySuppliers.com on-line chat says that this is the correct RAM and that I should return for replacement. I don't buy it. Can anyone help?

Try removing and reseating it. You might have placed it at the wrong angle. It's usually about a 30-45 degree angle.

I've tried all angles and it just won't fit. Tried to upload image but there are no options to do so.

Is this a Dell Latitude D600? That takes DDR(1) for sure. The situation may be reversed in that you need DDR(1) in the D600 and you have DDR2 on hand...
