    Hi,

I just bought a dell d630 with a 9 cell battery and 3 years limited warranty.

I was wondering if anybody knew whether the warrranty on the battery
    would hold for 3 years.

Like for example i was getting 4 hours on my laptop battery and 1 year later the battery life dropped down to say 2 hours would i be able to get a new one for free.

Ok lets say it drops to 1 hour, would i be able to get a replacement.

and supposed this happens after 2 years instead of 1 would the battery be replacable if i talked to dell?

Your experience, thoughts and knowledge would be helpful.
    Thank you

I don't know about Dell, but all other notebook brands have a 1 year battery warranty since it is considered to be a consumable object. I don't think Dell is any different no matter the type of warranty purchased.

I wouldn't think it would be covered for wear level. It seems like it would just be covered for a malfunction as in it quits working altogether. But I could be wrong on this as I have never owned a Dell.

    I am not sure either.

I know someother companies only provide 1 year battery replacement.

I am going to get in touch with customer service about this.

No, it's not covered on my 2 year extended warranty. Funny this is not mentioned when the exteneded warranty is offered? I just lost my 6 cell after 13 months so Dell came back with the "just a consumable" thing. So, 1 year only for the battery, welcome to Li-Ion technology. I bought new Dell 9 cell for $60.

I sent back e-mail as to what else is not covered, not heard back...

Yes i confirmed with DELL that the warranty for all batterys are only 1 year..because it it considered as a consumable product.

Im pretty sure its gonna start dying in a year..coz my earlier one did.
