Is it worth it to even buy a new notebook with DDR Ram in it anymore? Or is DDR2 the way to go? For either reason, please state why. Thanks!

If you already have a DDR mobo, then stick with it is OK. But DDR2 is really the way to go for 3 reasons:
1st. DDR2 is powered in 1.8V that is reduced almost 50% from DDR 2.5V. You should think of how much power it can save.
2nd. New laptops are not only DDR2 but also Dual Channel DDR2, which fill up the single channel DDR2's gap.
3rd, The price of DDR2 will drop much faster than DDR since it is mainstream.

The only defact of DDR2 is burst delay.
