    Hello My name is Royce i just wondered if you could help me with Mem upgrade for acer5310 i have tried to take the panel of the back of the laptop but it for some reason it wont budge i have taken the screws out & tried to lift the panel of but i just cant get into it to upgrade my machine.I just wondered if you could help me on this matter many thanks Royce...

    Is it the Aspire 5310 or Travelmate 5310 ? Anyway for the Aspire --

    Removing the Memory

    1. Remove the four screws holding the thermal cover.
    2. Detach the thermal cover from the main unit.
    3. Pop out the memory from the DIMM socket then remove it (If the notebook has two memory modules, then repeat this step).

    With the laptop upside down and the dvd towards you, use your thumb in the recess to lift up and at the same time use the back of a thin blade to lever the panel just to the right. This will release the first of the tabs holding the panel in place, work your way round anti-clockwise about half way then start on the other side, the tabs are bigger around the fan area so need to be released last. Mine took a lot of effort to remove the first time, easier after that.
