I`ve read that DDR3 doesn`t make a big difference when compared with DDR2 1033..
Now I think that is meant for Intel (except for Core i7 architecture I think?!)
is it the same with AMD?
when it comes to AMD, how do I know what RAM will best fit in the system?
-
depends on what you do.
and in my opinion, DDR3 does matter, it's just not that big of a difference. The reduce L2 Cache in i7 has to be compensated by ram -
I can tell you based on benchmarks that DDR3 matters on GPU's. Not quite as much on RAM though...doesn't really matter, its not something to worry about. It's not enough of a difference.

going from ddr3-1066 to ddr3-2000 will get you like 10% more performance at best, not worth it, at least not now.

AMD phenoms are desktop processors so therefore wouldn't this discussion be more suited for the desktop forums?
-
and thanks for the anwers, so i`m sticking with DDR2 unless the MoBo don`t accept them -
