    Hello,

My Dell XPS m1530 , few weeks ago finished it's 3 rd year of service and his warranty expired.

It has served me well , had some problems with hdd & ac , but mainly cause of my fault, and got it replaced on warranty.

For GPU & CPU wise laptop is running ok, as for m1530 I don't have overheating issues at least comparing to some temperatures some people can achieve.

Currently laptop is running for 7-8 hours already , with very big amount of tabs open with flash elements, youtube , winamp , aero vista ,etc and CPU cores are at 46 degrees and GPU at 55 degress.

I never replaced original cooling paste , so I am going to do it and put some decent one. I hope for at least 5 degress drop

Anyway. I already did had fun with GPU OC , not OC'ing it for everyday use - just for fun and few specifics uses rarely.

Anyway I am interested more in CPU OC. I never did it on laptop, as I was desktop only person before I got M1530.

I am aware that this OC cannot be big due to heat, & that DELL XPS M1530 has some kind of security against CPU OC.

I tried googling extensively for it but there is huge amount of topics with partial answers , without data needed , sometimes with excluding info.

I found this forum which seems really good , with nice & knowegedable community.

    I have few questions.

    1. I was not able to find PLL for Dell Xps M1530. I am willing to open my laptop in future obviously , for cooling paste change & maybe mods , but still I am wondering if someone finally was able to find & can share PLL number?

    2. I found 2008-2009 topics , that programms like SetFSB , CpuFSB and similar are not able to OC CPU in m1530 due to security called TMA? Has it changed or not really?

    3. If only way to disable TMA is doing pin-mod or some other mod, I am thinking of doing it, since my warranty is already over anyway.
PLL Pinmod Overclocking Methods and Examples

Though this list don't list M1530. There is M1330 and M1730 , but not M1530
Does that mean pin-mod or similar are not possible on m1530? or just there is no report avabile on this forum?
Anyone know maybe some report of anyone doing it?

I will be grateful for answers & help , I just want to attempt oc'ing CPU for fun

Please help & advice if possible
