    Hi and welcome to the forum.

    The hard drive you mentioned has an IDE interface which will not work with the Inspiron 1520. To find a drive that is compatible with your Dell, it has to be a 2.5" SATA interface hard drive.

    The Seagate looks like a IDE drive, which is incompatible with the 1520's SATA drive.

    Sorry, this begs the question: Why would you want to put such an outdated HD into a relatively 'new(er)' laptop, anyway?
