Hi there. I am planning to upgrade my HP dv2000 (1,6 Turion 64 dual core), from 1 GB of RAM (2x512) to 2GB of RAM (2x1024), but I am quite unsure what kind of memory I should look after.
Could someone give me a hint, as if it's DDR, DDR2 ... and what maximum frequency & latency I should be looking at ?
Thank you.

Its ddr2 667 mhz most likey, so look for some pc2 5300 notebook memory, you can get 2 x 1gb set on newegg.com for like 70 bucks....100 bucks for the low latency(cl4 instead of cl5) RAM set. Here are the links..

for the cl5 ram

for the quicker RAM cl4
cl4 should work on ur lappy, it does on mine, gateway t-6815 and it gets a better windows score by almost 1 -
Well you do have an Alienware so I can't really compare my system to yours

Thank you for the quick answer. -

My standard recommendation for AMD notebooks is for Crucial DDR2-667 SODIMMs but I must admit the CL4 Gskill sounds interesting.
