I have an HP DV6233se it's nice and I like it very much however I have several other laptops as well. This one however is my favorite. I like the way it looks and feels but it s so beyond damaged it's sick! I got this on a repair that the girl never paid for. she brought it in and asked me to replace the lcd. I have never done one but it should not be that hard to do. Anyway I get it home and I plug it in and power it on to see what is going on with it as the girl was not very intelligent when it came to these matters. Well the lcd snapped on and every thing powered up. but the hard drive was not moving. so I thought that was it I would throw a new hard drive in it and call it a day. Well when I opened the cover tons of roaches scurried out of it and as every one who works on electronics knows these little guys eat the solder. an have probably destroyed the mother board. anyway. I called the chick to tell her of this and that the issue was not the lcd after all. I then asked her to come and get it. she refused to get it so I ended up with it. So as I originally did not want it nor did I want roaches in my house I sprayed it to death with raid. and put in a garbage bag a few days later I pulled it out and tried to power it on. it would not. The lights were all flickering and making a loud buzzing noise. So I put it up. weeks later I tried it again. this time it worked. I put a hard drive in it and loaded an os and it has become my fav laptop. the down falls are if it is plugged in it will never completely shut off. the hard drive with shut off and the lcd will shut off but all of the dash lights are still on. Also the wifi does not work nor does the cam or mic nor does the dvd burner. it will read but not write. I am thinking I am going to take the good thing about the the white case and silver keyboard and combine them with another dv6k series. that does work. is this possible? I am getting another dv6k series I am not sure the model to be exact yet but most every thing should work right? I mean they are practically the same laptop.

    Is RAID conductive?
If it is, it may be bridging some of the solder points on the board.

Your best bet at this point is to get some gloves, and disassemble the thing.
When its all open get some metal pans and fill them with greater than 90% rubbing alcohol. Let the motherboard and components sit in that for a few hours.
When you remove the components clean the board with a bunch of q-tips. Let the board sit at least overnight before attempting to power it on.
Rubbing alcohol is conductive, so you want it all to be thoroughly dry before powering up.
I only recommend the rubbing alcohol to clean up all of the chemical residue on the motherboard.
Try to get 97% rubbing alcohol, I think that is the highest concentration stuff places like rite-aid will sell to you

Once it is all dry and clean try powering the system on,
    Hopefully everything works
